Welcome to Brûly-de-Pesche, located in the province of Namur! Your journey through time begins in the square, facing the reception area. Here, you'll discover how, in May 1940, the tranquility of this hamlet was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of German forces.
Following your audio guide, you'll observe the buildings that were requisitioned overnight by the German army. You'll learn how 27,000 villagers were forced to evacuate their homes, leaving behind their lives and memories.
Your path then leads you to a place with an evocative name: "The Wolf's Ravine". It's here, in what was Hitler's private quarters, that history took on a surreal dimension. You'll find a park with two chalets, a rotunda, and even an outdoor bathtub. Each element tells a part of the story.
Four years after Hitler's visit, the narrative takes a new turn. In one of the chalets, you'll discover the poignant story of the resistance fighters who chose these same woods to conduct their struggle. You can even enter the reconstruction of their shelter, the "Cagna", and imagine the whispered discussions and plans elaborated in utmost secrecy.
Informative panels will bring these stories to life. The testimonies you listen to will transport you to this troubled period, making you feel the anguish of occupation but also the hope carried by the Resistance.
Want to experience this in "escape game" mode? After putting the events of May-June 1940 in order, discover the daily life of civilians between restriction and resistance. As you move through the park, you'll find suitcases and elements of the scenery that will allow you to solve the 7 puzzles.
