The ZooParc is, first and foremost, a place for the preservation of endangered species. As such, it takes part in European breeding programmes. The aim is to secure the long-term survival of endangered species in captivity and reintroduce them progressively into protected zones in their natural habitat. The educational work carried out by the park is important to achieve this goal, as it raises visitors’ awareness of issues surrounding the protection of fauna and flora.
A paradise for young and old
The ZooParc boasts a whole host of activities to help raise awareness. Let’s start with the most important, the species living at the park: American red squirrels, snowy owls, Grant’s zebras, black-crowned cranes, Indian crested porcupines, white-tufted marmosets, turquoise-fronted amazons, arctic foxes, striped skunks and more. In total, there are twenty species to observe and meet in four different territories across the park (the African territory, Amazonian jungle, North American forest, and the prairie of wonders).
To make your visit really special, the ZooParc organises a number of activities, accessible to all visitors, three times a day. For example, you can go meet the lemurs and help their keeper feed them! It’s a dream come true!
New! A barefoot trail was recently inaugurated. For young and old alike, it links the different substrates encountered by the polar foxes in their natural environment (different kinds of stones, pine cones, bark, sand...)
