Visit to the Dam at the Eau d’Heure Lakes

Are you looking for an incredible view? Visit Belgium's largest dam at the Eau d'Heure Lakes. You will learn a thing or two about its functioning and as a bonus, the tower on top of the dam offers an impressive view! A must-see!

Visit to the Dam at the Eau d’Heure Lakes

If you are in the area of the Eau d’Heure Lakes (French: les Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure), you should definitely take the chance to visit the dam. It was built in the 1970’s to regulate the water level and flow rate of the river Sambre. Nowadays it’s a major tourist attraction in Wallonia.

The panoramic view offered by the tower in the dam is no less than impressive. The 107 metre tower was completely renovated in 2013. The floor in the top is partially in glass and therefore transparent. Very special, but not for those with a fear of heights.

During the guided visit, you will get to know all about the dam, the electricity production and the  Eau d’Heure Lakes in general. Very interesting!

If you are at Froidchappelle, we can inform you that this place is definitely worth a visit. If you are planning on staying in this beautiful area for multiple days, then make sure to book one of Ardennes-Etape's holiday homes.
