The Piconrue museum

The Piconrue museum is located in the city centre of Bastogne (next to the church).

The Piconrue museum has three diversified exhibition areas (1,500 square meters) about heritage and culture in Ardennes. In every exhibition, there are tools specialy created for the families to spend rewarding moments.

On the ground floor stands the exhibition about the farmer and painter André Bosmans named « André Bosmans. The pitchfork, the pen and the paintbrush », a blink of an eye for his job as a farmer and his two passions : painting and poetry. The seventy paintings of Bosmans (1922-2014) bring you in the rural and agricultural world of the twentieth century. Discover the transformations which have accelerated the disappearance of the peasantry. Free and rebel spirit, the Ardennes painter juggled with portraits, landscapes and revolution paintings.

On the first and second floors are located two other exhibitions. With « The Ages of Life », you travel back in time to a traditional society between 1850 and 1950. By the discovery of a myriad of objects and documents, you accompany the people of the Ardennes from the cradle to the grave. This exhibition is the occasion to discover the Ardennes of our parents and grandparents.

Lost into a dark forest with strange trees, this legendary forest harbours six mysterious characters. In family or between friends, go to an unexepected journey and discover the fairies, the nutons, the werewolf, the devil… in the « House of Legends ».

In the region of Bastogne, discover a great holiday home for a weekend or an entire week.
