The Castle of Modave is part of Wallonia's 'Exceptional Real Estate Heritage'. Located on the heights of the Hoyoux valley, you will be staying in an outbuilding of the Castle. The setting is prestigious and peaceful thanks to the 450-hectare nature reserve surrounding the premises. This public property is frequently used for marriages. It is thus possible to rent one of the historical rooms for an event during your stay. Be aware that a marriage may be taking place during your stay but your holiday rental remains completely separated. Let us now deal with the layout of the castle. This former hotel benefits from 22 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms and may host up to 46 persons. The rooms are spread over two floors. On the ground floor, you will find a couple of cozy corners like two small lounges, a billiard room and a meeting room with tables and chairs. You will also find a lovely dining room on the ground floor with a professional kitchen to prepare delicious meals for the whole group. On the underground floor, you will find 3 basements transformed into playrooms with games for children and adults as well as a theater room! As far as the exterior is concerned, you will find a beautiful terrace inside an interior courtyard (former stables).
The Castle of Modave is a tourist place and it may be visited. You will thus be able to visit the castle during your stay, too. The castle is completely separated from your holiday cottage and there is a ticket office to pay the entrance fees.
The town of Modave is close to Huy and is less than a one-hour drive from La Roche, Durbuy or Rochefort. If you would like to rent bicycles during your stay, you may head to B.Cycl in Huy and go for a ride on the 'RAVeL'-route along the Meuse river. In Durbuy, you will be able to enjoy exciting activities like the Parc des Topiaires, with over 250 plant sculptures, or Adventure Valley Durbuy for outdoor activities.

The castle is renowned for mariages and there may be a mariage taking place during your stay. If so, it will take place in the central courtyard. You will have the side courtyard next to the mariage room at your disposal.

Perfect voor een grote groep!
Zeer proper, Goede ligging voor vele wandelingen te doen. Het was een leuk verblijf, we komen zeker terug maar dan in het voorjaar. Ook het kasteel van Modave is een aanrader om te bezoeken
PLUS: prachtige omgeving. MIN: Foto's van het verblijf geven een verkeerd beeld. Groot verschil tussen de kamers op 1ste en 2de verdieping. Geen fysieke ontvangst: we kregen een code en mochten alles zelf uitzoeken. Niemand bereikbaar (slechte gsm-ontvangst + zwak wifi-signaal). Geen inventaris van de keuken (was beloofd). Op afspraak (rit van 3 uur) bezochten we enkele maanden op voorhand het pand, maar kregen de kamers niet te zien. Bedden: zelf opmaken. Geen douchegel aanwezig...
