You find yourself here in the beautiful Pays de Herve, which you no doubt know from the famous strong cheese of the same name. However, it is also known for its green orchards, numerous seventeenth and eighteenth century farms and rolling landscapes. Be sure to visit the beautiful Val-Dieu abbey, founded by Dutch-born Cistercian monks, and sample some of the delicious traditional Belgian beers brewed on site. At Blegny-Mine, be sure to take a descent into the old coal mine. A Unesco heritage site, it comes highly recommended! The Réserve de la Gueule offers an ideal excursion for those hoping to spot some rare animal and plant species. What's more, the Gileppe reservoir is the perfect place for cyclists, hikers and adventurers of all ages. Finally, at Henry-Chapelle, the American Military Cemetery commemorates the fallen soldiers of the Second World War.
