Would you like to find an idyllic place in Belgium with plenty of activities for young and old? Then look no further because lake Nisramont, with its lush greenery and glistening water, is sure to provide numerous unforgettable moments. Discover our five favourite activities along the dam and lake.
Nisramont dam
Nisramont Lake is located in the Ardennes in the beautiful municipality of La Roche-en-Ardenne. Set in 47 hectares, it is the ideal location for fishing, water sports and hiking. And you must visit the dam that is fed by the Ourthe River! It is 116m long and no less than 16m high. A unique experience to start or end your walk.
Walk around the lake
Go on one of the most beautiful walks in the Ardennes around the lake of Nisramont. This 14 km tour takes you around the entire lake. Please note that this walk is definitely not flat and, with an ascent of 1301m, it is quite tough. It will take regular walkers about five hours. That said, it is lovely to plan the whole day out and start the walk early so that you can have a picnic along the waterfront too.
SUP-ing on the lake
SUP-ing? What is that exactly? SUP-ing or stand-up paddleboarding is a relaxing sport which allows you to take to the lake balanced on a board. Supervisor Roelian will teach you all the techniques and show you a beautiful course that you can follow alone. You will be amazed by the beauty and serenity of the experience, over and over again.

What do you need to know before you leave?
Are you coming to enjoy a day at lake Nisramont? There is a large free car park at the entrance to the lake. This car park is quickly filled to capacity during the weekend and high season, so be sure to arrive early to find a space.
There is also a tavern where you can go for a drink or a snack. Please note that you can only pay with cash and that there are no ATMs in the vicinity of the lake. So be sure to bring some cash from home.
Although many people dip their toes in the water, swimming in the NisramontLake remains prohibited. So you can't splash around in the water, but you can use the above activities to cool down on hot days.
