Fine cuisine in the Belgian Ardennes
Every region has its typical cuisine and the Belgian Ardennes are no different. We found several restaurant owners who wanted to share with us their passion for cooking and delicious food.
Gastronomy in the Belgian Ardennes
While being on holiday, we enjoy trying the local cuisine, tasty food we won’t find at home. In the Belgian Ardennes, you will not be disappointed.
There are plenty of excellent restaurants. Amongst them: le Bistronôme in Waimes, Zabonprés in Stoumont, L’Air du Temps in Lierneux or Vertige des Saveurs in Martelange, to name just a few. The chefs are really passionate and we understand why… The Belgian Ardennes are home to producers of the very best local foods and quality products.
Cheese, beer, trout, fries and much more. The variety makes you want to try everything. And the food is just simply that good!
Top 3 Belgian beers according to Fabian Goris from the Bistronôme: Orval, Rochefort and Leffe… Don’t worry, there are lots of others: Bellevaux, La Chouffe, Chimay, Geuze, Gaumaise, etc. Everyone will find their favourite.
If you pass through Liège, we recommend you to visit a Vaudrée. These seven concept bars (belonging to the Vaudrée Concept chain) offer a wide variety of Belgian beers. To enjoy with moderation of course.
For cheese, too, Belgium, and in particular the Belgian Ardennes, has a lot to offer. The two-star chef of L’Air du Temps, Sang-Hoon Degeimbre revealed us his personal top 3: the Lathuy, the Père François goat cheese and the Pas de Bleu from Agris.
We hope we stirred up your appetite! Book your holiday home with Ardennes-Etape and find out all about Ardennes gastronomy.
